Yesterday afternoon, Darryl and I had the privilege of giving a presentation of our Prison AR project for the Prisoner Learning Alliance, as part of their webinar series. It was very well attended and received good feedback. The Q&A session fantastic, with some great questions and reflections for the wider context of prison learning, support and use of technology.
One important aspect which was discussed (and all delegates seemed to be in agreement), was the power of sharing and not working in isolation or reinventing the wheel. Like-minded individuals and institutions are all working towards the same goal, supporting prison learners and providing solutions that will support and give benefit to all. With this in mind, as a collective, we can produce and provide something wonderful to allow collaboration, sharing and targeted resources to provide learning for all.
The project team are very inspired that our project work to date has relevance and moving in the right direction, with a need to provide resources that are visual, interactive and allow solutions to be tailored to fit the need. Furthermore, specific reasons for resource development, depending on learner and institutional requirements. It was exciting to share our resources and highlight the perceived benefits and tangible use for learners for the classroom/workshop and ultimate goal of in-cell use. We are excited at the progress yet to come, as we continue with the project development and practical delivery.
