Dissemination Events!

We are weeks away from the Phase 1 project end. I can't believe how quickly the last three years have passed, especially with the COVID-19 Pandemic and lockdowns to deal with as well.

The project has two multiplier events to disseminate the project findings and development.

Event One:

The first takes place and organised by the Belgium partners EHCB, (European Humanity Center Brussels). The online event takes place on Tuesday 7th December 2021 at 10:00am (UK time).

The event will concentrate on education resources for learning in Belgium and the outputs of our Erasmus partnership project; 'Developing Augmented Reality in Offender Learning'.

The outline of the event:

· Introduction (Ugur Tok, EHCB) (10 mins)

· Presentation One: Stijn Bosman – Everberg Youth Prison (30 mins)

· Presentation Two: Richard Booth – Shrewsbury Colleges Group (30 mins)

· Q&A session (30 mins).

Event Two:

The second dissemination event takes place on Tuesday 14th December 2021 10:30am-2:30pm.

This event is the culmination of three years’ work and development linked to partner organisations from Romania (Biblioteca Judeteana Antim Ivireanu Valcea & Centrul Pentru Promovarea Invatarii Permanente Timisoara Asociatia), Belgium (EHC Brussels (European Humanity Center Brussels)), Her Majesty's Prison & Probation Service, with Shrewsbury Colleges Group leading the project.

Overview:

Augmented Reality (AR) can provide learners in offender learning with a more interactive way to develop and increase skills to help reduce reoffending and enable them to lead law abiding lives when released.

At the dissemination event we aim to bring all the partners together to raise awareness of the project aims and what has been achieved since 2018.

We intend to:

• Demonstrate how AR can be used and a range of resources already produced

• How the use of AR the resources can be securely 'locked' from the outside world, and access monitored and within the security confines required for custodial institutions

• How AR can extend and enhance the learner information experience using an engaging tool that enables learners to use their own smart devices to access the content

• How tutors can develop high-quality resources using Augmented Reality as a tool to link to engaging information for learners that can be accessed in a range of situations (AR posters, leaflets, literature disseminated to institutions, etc.)

• Raise attainment in offender learning trans-nationally and potentially assist with reducing reoffending

The whole project team are very much looking forward to presenting at these events and hope the participants enjoy them!
