Hewell Pilot and change of Governor We discussed the imminent change of Governor at HMP Hewell that will happen in the next two weeks. It was agreed that the proposed pilot will still take place as per the project plan and process.
The current governor Gareth Sands will be moving to HMP Full Sutton and Claire Pearson taking over at HMP Hewell (current governor at HMP Long Lartin).
Actions:
· Justyn to contact Gareth, Claire and other interested parties with the changeover and proposed meeting with Claire to discuss moving forward.
· Richard to contact Gareth to see if there is any scope of extending the pilot to Full Sutton as an extension of the project process.
Prison Induction Process and visits
Richard was keen to attend the 3 day prison induction process so can witness what the current process is and which elements would be beneficial to produce as the AR information resources. Justyn has the days that the induction process takes place at HMP Hewell and HMP Brinsford.
Actions:
· Justyn to organise visits to experience the 3 day induction process at both prisons.
Security discussion
Now we have delivery of the iPads, we can now begin work on the security process. We confirmed the next steps would be:
· Configure one of the HMPPS project iPads with Abigail and Philip from Ministry of Justice in London, in line with their security process and document this in full.
· Add the Zappar App and details for the Wi-Fi access at HMP Hewell
· Begin testing with the Learning Centre at HMP Hewell
· Test the introduction guides for Teachers and Trainers and also with Learners to test the process and also make any amendments where necessary.
Actions:
· Darryl to contact Abigail Brecht and Phillip Whittaker at MOJ to arrange a meeting to configure the iPad in line with security process and ready for the pilot project with the identified learners. This meeting to take place at HMP Hewell or Ministry of Justice office in London.
