The project has a breakthrough with Braila-Tichilesti Penitentiary, they have agreed to take part in our project. Braila-Tichilesti Penitentiary for minors and youth is located in the eastern part of Romania, at about 17 km away from the city Braila in a village named Tichilesti. It has in custody minors and youth that have received, as punishment, actual jail time.
The Romanian project partners (CPIP) will be signing the cooperation agreement with them next month. They have also developed an activities plan, with proposed activities and work development. However, there is one big problem, the use of internet is prohibited within the Penitentiary. As this is the reality of such institutions, the resources can be used as 'standalone' in this rare instance and we can pilot and gain feedback on the quality of the resources and evaluate from that angle for our project reporting.
Potentially in the longer-term if the Penitentiary are open to the idea of use of internet for the learners, we can offer recommendations of lock down and security process, as part of our project output.
